COFFEE AND BEYOND

A place where the whole family feels at home!

As of today April 28, 2009 Coffee and Beyond is closing its doors. It has been a pleasure serving you and we look forward to the next chapter of our lives.

God bless,

Carolina

WHO WE ARE:

Coffee and Beyond is a place that has been brought about by the power of our almighty God through faith and obedience, where family and friends can gather and spend some quality time connecting with one another.

From the beginning we felt that God wanted us to provide people with a place where the whole family could feel at home. As people who found us at our previous location would tell you we started out as a very kid friendly coffee shop with a large play area and extremely limited adult seating.

We have since then expanded into a bigger location and in addition to having a play area for the little ones we now also have three "quiet rooms" for our childless patrons, a children's library, a classroom, a music room, a private gathering room, a large seating area in front (with ample adult seating) and even a trading closet! God is making Coffee and Beyond a place that can truly be enjoyed by people of all ages and we look forward to serving you and your family soon!

WHY WE ARE HERE:

To glorify God through our labor by serving others and providing testimony about the wonderful things that our family has experienced ever since we began to consciously allow God to work through us rather than inspite of us.

OUR STORY:

Coffee and Beyond was brought about and is evolving daily by a series of unseemingly unrelated events that each day fall into place much like a big puzzle. In April of 2008 through the grace of God (and responsible financial stewardship by my husband) we were able to pay off our home and decided it was time to start doing something. Instead of our usual prayer "God help us do this..." We asked God, "What would you like for us to do?" From that moment He took the lead and he revealed to us that there was a need in this area for a place where families could interact with one another in a relaxed setting and in a month's time we found ourselves as the proud new owners of "Coffee Talk" a cell phone dealership with a small coffee bar in the back. We took the phones out of "Coffee Talk" and exchanged them for a several kid sized tables and lots of toys. We changed the name to Juguemos Juntos which means Let's Play Together!
and by the week of June 18, 2008 we were ready for our Grand Opening Week.
From that time forth we have had the honor to witness first hand how God has transformed this place from what it was to what it is becoming. Each day brings with it so many undescribable experiences and miracles that if I were to write each one of them down I'd end up with a million books. God's faithfulness in providing not only what we need to run this place but every single one of our personal needs and wants (be it the $40,000 to buy the original coffee shop all the way down to a tiny pair of pink Crocs for Sofia's Christmas gift) has made us aware that even now, in the year 2009 in Allen, Texas... amidst what is being called the worst financial crisis ever... God is still and has always been in control and to him be the Glory!

WHERE HAVE I BEEN!!!!

The last month or so has been a hectic one for me and my family. As many of you know, my brother in-law Pedro Guerra passed away in El Paso on March 15, after being on life support for a week due to an anurism. Because of his unexpected passing there are a lot of things that my husband needs to take care of in El Paso which means that we will have to travel back and forth between here and there for a while until everything is worked out. There is no doubt in my mind that my first duty is to… Continue
